My First Dive

Hey folks,

So far the trip’s been great. The Mini is an excellent driving machine, it’s truly a pleasure to maneuver.

My first stop was Palo Alto, after a 10 hour drive I was pretty tired, but I had a concert to attend so no rest for me. Greg and I went to see Infected Mushroom in San Francisco on Friday. More on that later.

Sunday morning I drove to Byron, California for my first ever sky diving experience. Greg’s stupid knee made it so he couldn’t go, so I just went by myself.

The dive was amazing, I was really nervous when we were up in the plane, it seemed like we were climbing forever. I was like the second or third person out, and as I was hanging my feet over the edge of the plane, I couldn’t believe what I was about to do. It was epic. Check out the video below.

After a Brief Hiatus…

Hi guys! Just wanted to let you know that after spending a week away from my laptop thanks to Comic Con, I am so ready to get back to writing. I have tons of awesome stories and pictures to share, so be sure to check back this week when I will get back to updating regularly.

Just a side note, I’m thinking about changing the title of the blog since I am no longer in the khana…got any suggestions?

Day Twenty-nine

I’m not set up to do my usual sort of post – but I know many of you would probably like to be filled in, so here’s the short list:

I saw Zack today – Woot! There was lots of snugglin’ – Double Woot!

I had two beers – Yeah, a month without any alcohol and I was pretty buzzed indeed.

OMFG got my hurr did – And it came out amazing. I wanted to hug the woman. Really thin dark red streaks mixed into a dark reddish brown color – it’s sooo pretty. I’ll upload some pictures soonish.

I also wanted to say that the reason why I’m at home a day early is that Zack had a romantic evening planned for us, that only really made sense at the house. Tomorrow he’s coming back to the khana with me so that he can get a glimpse of my habitat, where I have my own romantic evening planned.

Mmm, we didn’t go out or do anything fancy. Zack’s plan was really simple and sweet, we basically spent time together watching Buffy and smoking the hookah. Isn’t it wonderful that such an understated activity can produce deep feelings of joy and content? I felt like I was just hanging out with my best friend.

Y’know, but(t) naked.

Day Twenty-eight

College is the future! Well, it’s my future, and a lot of it. I paid for my Fall classes a few weeks ago. I’ll be taking Color, 3-D Design, Life Drawing and Intro to Web Development – the latter being an internet course. A couple of years ago I signed up for this course but never finished it, it was too slow paced for my liking. Anyhow, I probably should have withdrawn, rather than never doing any of the work and ending up with an F. It’s a pain in the ass, but the one grade is fucking up my 4.0 GPA. Besides, I’ve had plenty of time living the good life (read: taking a semester off), I can handle a few annoying setbacks.

Taking a break from school has done me a world of good. It was nice being able to step back and assess my life situation. Going to school felt great, but I knew that it was also serving as a distraction from problems that I didn’t want to face in my personal life. Now that I have confronted some of my demons, I feel 100% committed to my future.

As for long term college plans, I’m not entirely sure what I’m going to do. I definitely have another 2-3 years of community college ahead of me, giving me a reasonable amount of time to figure out the direction in which I want to take my art career. I would love to attend an art college after MCC, I think the environment of such a place would be amazing for me. On the other hand, I really don’t have a problem just transferring to ASU if the alternatives prove to be impractical.

It does scare me that my theoretical graduation is so far off. That far into the future just seems hazy and the older I get, the more uncomfortable I become. Two or three years into the future is really not that long of a time, it slips right by you. I’ve been married for over two years now, but it seems like it happened last week. I keep waiting for something to click inside of me, where I’m suddenly a grown-up and I know grown-up things. It’s as though I think some Head Grown-up in Charge is going to drop in and provide my life with stability and reassurance… Maybe that is what happens, it’s just that the grown-up is supposed to be me.

Hmm…

Day Twenty-seven

My schedule is still super fucked up. I’ve basically been alternating between sleeping and running Hobopolis. I suppose it’s also easier to skip a blog post when I’ve got social interaction. Yeah, totally breaking one of the rules. I have a tendency to do this whenever I’m in the final stretch. I dunno, it’s not a big deal to me, I definitely feel like I have gotten what I needed from this experience, and this last week of online interaction has not been free of its own lessons.

Hmm, so many things to do. Moving out and not to mention getting ready for my big debut. I love this part, I get to do the girly thing and give myself a makeover. I do this whenever I’m going through a period of transition, but especially when I’m entering a new relationship. Okay, so I’m still with Zack, but he hasn’t seen me in a month, he won’t remember exactly what I look like; It’s a perfect time to make a dramatic change.

Actually, it is a little like entering a new relationship, I feel so different than when I first moved into the khana. While I have noticed little changes as they occurred, I haven’t really stopped to look at this experience as a whole. I’m refreshed and ready to step into the world putting my best foot forward.

I have remembered the face of my father. Yay!

I got up at 8 this morning, finally managing to break that atrocious schedule I was caught in. I’m feeling sleepy and would really like to go to bed while I can. Sorry folks, this post is going to be late, and even then it will only be pictures. Hmm, maybe I’ll display some art or something.

Regardless, I need my sleep, so the post will have to wait. <3
